Finding and communicating your WHY

This month we talked about our WHYs. But what is your WHY?

If you haven’t seen Simon Sinek’s TED talk (only 64+ million views!) it’s very worth watching. In it he says “People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.”

Articulating it isn’t as easy as it sounds, however.

In today’s meeting Lenka lead a lively discussion on finding and communicating your WHY. This was the agenda:

  • Describe your Why in a sentence
  • What makes a good Why
  • How do you find a good Why

I think we all struggled to describe our WHYs in just one sentence. We talked about a good WHY having an emotional hook. And to find a good why we talked about exploring values, mindset, and intention.

Want to explore this further?

Simon Sinek has two great books:

And his website and Instagram are great too!

Bruce recommended another book: A More Beautiful Question: The Power of Inquiry to Spark Breakthrough Ideas

Our next meeting will be on March 13th.
